Research and Development

For the R&D department of PBF the research of new technology in power conversion is very important. The R&D team is continuously involved in improving technology. Research is done for increasing the efficiency and power density of our power supplies. Target is to further improve product reliability and lower product cost. PBF has many years of experience with CE, UL, CSA and SEMI testing and certification of their products.

During the quotation process the customer will be informed about the feasibility and performance of the product to be developed.

The development process is guided by clear milestones, which are stated in a Statement Of Work (SOW). For every milestone there is a review with the customer.

At the start of the development extensive computer simulations and calculations have been carried out. Based on this the design will de done. Due to this design method prototypes are almost first time right. This will shorten time to market significantly.

The R&D team of PBF has extensive experience in development of powersupplies up to 100kW. Special requirements like ultralow ripple, high power density, high voltage or high efficiency is a challenge which our R&D team can handle very well.

Prototypes will be tested to the functional specifications. After the qualification the product has been tested to all the specifications including the environmentals, safety and EMC.

Our engineering team is responsible for the design of mechanics, overall construction, wiring, special coils and transformers. Also they are responsible for the Technical Product documentation.
