SFC is operating from its R&D and manufacturing locations in Almelo, The Netherlands and Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

We are looking for a/an:

Technical Project Buyer

Location: Almelo, the Netherlands

As a Technical Project Buyer you are the link between the R&D team and the strategic purchasers. You develop products, from projects to serial products and support the project teams in selecting the best suitable components. You are the source for optimal supplier and partner control and fulfil our product needs.

In your role, you will:

• Explore and source the right partners, suppliers, products and projects;
• Create an optimal and cost-efficient supply chain;
• Assess the current purchase orders based on agreed conditions;
• Secure, using Early Supplier Involvement (ESI), to improve the time to market;
• Visit suppliers in and outside of Europe to improve relationships between the companies and understand their processes to have a clear understanding of the pricing of projects;
• Support all interfacing departments and stakeholders;
• Supervise the transfer of new products;
• Implement and manage the critical paths and milestones;
• Provide clear documentation and ensure good administration.

What should your background look like?

• At least 5 years of experience in purchasing in high tech;
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in technical business administration or a similar field;
• Negotiation skills, understanding of the electronic manufacturing service (EMS) and knowledge of how mechanical and electro-mechanical components are manufactured;
• You are analytical/numbers driven, cost-sensitive, can organize yourself and are good at making decisions, you can keep an overview and can report accurately;
• Microsoft Office (Teams, Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint);
• You are fluent in Dutch and English (C1).
